When most of us think of becoming a chef, we may not think of some of the less traditional segments of the industry-like pet food for example.  But chef Michael Roddey hasn’t always taken a traditional approach or followed a conventional path.

Chef Michael Roddey brings to his ventures over 30 years of diverse food service/hospitality industry experience. Chef Roddey is the Corporate Chef & General Manager for the California processing facility for NomNomNow, Inc. He oversees west coast operations leading a team of over 60 staff that own the operational process of supplying customers with weekly subscription based meals for their pets.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in the SF Bay Area, NomNomNow home delivers dog meals made with the freshest, restaurant-quality ingredients—all with the convenience of automatic reorder and free shipping. NomNomNow meals are cooked weekly in the company’s local kitchen, individually proportioned, tailored to meet the specific nutrition needs of each dog, and ready to serve with no prep. Today, NomNomNow serves dogs across 48 contiguous states.

Reinforcing his time and dedication to the industry he has earned numerous credentials from various professional organizations. Receiving his education throughout the years he holds Associate degrees in both Culinary Arts and Linguistics, a Bachelor degree in Business Management and a Master degree in Higher Education & Organizational Development. In addition, he is a consummate life-long learner and continually seeks professional development opportunities.

Chef Roddey served six years in the Air Force National Guard during which time he received various awards and medals. Even after his discharge he continued to support of the armed services. His support includes volunteering for the US Navy’s Adopt a Chef Program donating time to help groom US Navy Culinary Specialists and improve the overall galley operations on board Navy vessels.
