Marc Metzer and Olinday Farms

Marc Metzer is a 3rd generation California duck farmer developing his new duck egg company Olinday Farms. Marc is also the general manager at Metzer Farms which his father started over 40 years ago, hatching and shipping waterfowl across the United States. Growing up in the Salinas Valley, Marc always knew he wanted to return to his agriculture roots after graduating from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Upon graduation, he moved to Seoul, South Korea and taught  English to elementary and middle school students. After returning to California, Marc worked at Taylor Farms (fresh cut vegetable producer) for 5 years. In 2016 the California Agricultural Leadership accepted Marc as a fellow for class 46, helping Marc develop his leadership skills in seminars in California, Washington DC, Jordan, Israel, and Greece. This experience has helped Marc better understand the challenges with starting and running Olinday Farms. Marc’s favorite activities include traveling and weightlifting. He has traveled extensively in Asia with North Korea being his most noteworthy trip and Thailand being his favorite.
