Charles and Shiyrah Crowther

My name is Charles and my wife is Shiyrah.  We started growing Shiitakes 15 years ago in a small town in Tennessee. What started out as a hobby soon turned into a business. About 7 years ago we moved to a little place in Alabama called Montevallo. We live on 14 acres, tucked away from the city  where we grow a wide variety of mushrooms. One of our main crops are Log-grown Shiitake Mushrooms. We grow these exquisite mushrooms outside in dappled sunlight under a canopy of trees. Along side of our Shiitakes we grow several varieties of Oysters Mushrooms.

We are vendors at Pepper Place Farmers Market in Birmingham. We are there every Saturday rain or shine from 7-12. Our spring and summer market starts April 13th and ends October 7th. If you’re ever in the Birmingham area, come check us out. This is a great farmers market you won’t want to miss!

At Grandview Farm we are very devoted and take much care in providing you with a gourmet mushroom that is sure to tantalize your palate as well as boost your health with their distinctive flavors and excellent nutrition.  We want to help you bring the best to your table!

Two of the nicest people you could ever meet. They invited our senior center to their home and took us on a tour. Very impressive. They even had us in their home for lunch. If you are at Pepper Place you should check them out.
